Dissemination Conference, Brussels 18 October 2018

Save the date in your calendar! You are welcome to Brussels, Belgium, to hear our summary of our Erasmus+ project Inclusion of Young Newcomers.

The project will introduce its findings, four policy recommendations for the work with young newcomers. Professor Maaike Hajer will talk on the “migrant’s journey” and will be challenged by professor Anne Chant and Bob Pleysier, former director Fedasil. The debate is led by the well-known Belgian journalist Brigitte Vermeersch.

Representatives from the partners of the European Erasmus+ project are in place.

Maaike Hajer (NL), Professor at Utrecht University of Applied Science in Language Education and Diversity

Anne Chant (UK), Assistant Director of the Centre for Career and Personal Development, Faculty of Education, Canterbury Christ Church University.

Bob Pleysier (BE), former director Fedasil, now legal guardian of unaccompanied and separated minors.

Brigitte Vermeersch, moderator and journalist who works for VRT (Flemish Radio and Television Network). In april 2017 she participated in a project in which she quit her job as a journalist for one month and became a language teacher for young newcomers in a school in Antwerp. This experience gave her a specific interest in education for young newcomers.
